Lutherans believe and confess that Jesus of Nazareth is the long awaited and promised Messiah. He is both fully human and fully divine. Through his life, death, and bodily resurrection from the dead we are forgiven our sins and restored to a life giving and loving relationship with God. Jesus the Son of God is the second person of the Holy Trinity.
